18 Girls showing the way!

Great to see the 18 girls don't care what day it is, or even if it's school holidays.
08:30 and the girls have completed a 3KM run, with Indian file sprints on the way back.
Chucked in some Medicine ball work, Paired Sprints and some short sprint work, a quick game a 4 on 4 beach soccer, followed by sprints in the good ol' Whyalla Beach and you have yourself an hour work out.

Great Job Girls!!!

Training for this week.

Seems the courts are not available at all until Thursday night. Courts are getting re surfaced and the foyer is meant to have been polished. Not the best timing for us, but I guess the job needed to be done..

Under 18 boys are yet to train, so that is going to make it hard for them. Hopefully they will be able to get out there Thursday night and see how it all goes.

Teams

The wait is over...
Teams will be announced this week for the Broken Hill carnival, all players need to make sure they are at training and giving their all.

Good luck to all involved, and remember if you dont make the cut you still need to attend trainings to try and get into the next team.

It should also be mentioned that the WJBA in the past has supplied a bus for this trip, but will not be doing so this year so allplayers will need to make thier won travel arranngements.

Upcoming Carnivals.

For those that do not know what carnivals we attend here are the upcoming dates;

Broken Hill

Pt Augusta

Pt Pirie

Whyalla's Own!

The SA Country Championship's. Dates to be added at a later date, normally held in March.

There was some serious consideration for the SYP but with the full listings there the committee decided against it. We wish those attending all the best and hope at some stage to be able to add this to our calender as Pt Lincoln Basketaball has been a strong supporter of ours for some time now.

Try-outs 2009/2010

Try outs have come and gone, plenty of kids which is a good thing for me. Plenty of new faces so that is good, as it is good to get some new talent out there playing the game at the next level.
While we had good numbers in most grades, Under 16 girls were, so the search will go on for new and exciting talent there. Mick & I will be doing the rounds looking to see who is about and who is interested..if you know of any girls interested please let me know..

To see all the upcoming carnivals please go to SA Country Calendar of Events. This is up to date.

At this stage we will be going to Broken Hill, Pt Augusta, Pt Pirie, and SA Country Champs.
Still need to speak to coaches about sending team(s) to Pt Lincoln (Southern Junior Carnival), but with it being the weekend after we return from Broken Hill, I am not quite sure....yet..
